tonymaybery Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Hope this is the right place to ask for help. I teach in a school and the Smart projector I use has been damaged. The reflective surface which throws the picture onto the screen has been scratched. It now means the picture on the screen is blurred. We have been told that it's not worth fixing and should be binned which is just criminal. To have it taken down and replaced with a spare projector we have will be £480!!!!!!! My question is ' Does anyone know if a spare reflector can be purchased and if so are they hard to replace'. We are only a small school and £500 is a lot of money from our budget. Any pointers are most welcome. Thanks Tony
jamesreedersmith Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Its too hard to replace as it has to be very very accuratly positioned and aligned - better to a get a new projector as cost of getting it fixed will not be worth i would suspect.
FN-GM Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I agree with the above. Its not something that can just be replaced. If it could be replaced you would have to send it away, it will cost a few quid, probably exceeding to value of the projector.
VeryPC_Andy Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 @tonymaybery , Sorry to hear about your issue, as we are the AV forum sponsors I thought it only right to step in to lend a hand. If it helps save you budget, I'd be happy to have our install team call you and do the installation work at our cost (mileage and time). I know it won't be fixing your projector but I'm very certain we can cut that £500 into a bitesize number. Our AV engineers are smart accredited so it should be a simple fix. Where are you based? A PM coming across shortly with my details. Cheers
