Interactive CleverTouch Screens - Extend/Duplicate

We've freshly installed around 15-20 new interactive screens throughout the School (and obviously all the teacher laptops have been rebuilt etc) but one issue we keep having is that as soon as the person connected to the interactive decides to exit anything fullscreen (Powerpoint, YouTube video etc) the display switches back to 'extend' when it is originally set to 'duplicate'.

 

Now I know someone will say "Just tell them to windows+P!" but unfortunately we have already told them how to switch back, but people forget & human error etc. I'd rather fix the root problem as this wasn't happening last year.

 

The screens are connected to the laptops via HDMI and USB (for touch-interactivity).

 

Anyone got any ideas? if there's a way to automatically set the machines to "duplicate" as soon as it detects another display that'd just be awesome.

PowerPoint 2013? you could try this options > Advanced > uncheck " automatically extend display when presenting on a laptop or tablet" though you did mention its' when exiting full screen it's worth try. Edited September 10, 2014 by OxfordBlue

you can stop the presenter mode on PowerPoint turning on by a registry hack, details here in a previous edugeek thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/office-software/127470-powerpoint-2013-presenter-view.html

Unsure if you can disable it for YouTube via IE though.

I think they'll just have to cope with with the YouTube issue..
