So, we upgraded to IE11 over the holiday due to various things requiring us to move past IE9. However, we now have the inevitable collection of random issues appearing.

1. Some teachers are getting an issue whereby the page they load appears for a second, then goes blank. However, if they scroll right down, the page is actually there. The only issue with the scrolled down version is that they can't type into any login boxes etc... I understand there was an issue with SMART Ink and IE10 a while back. Has anyone had this same issue with IE11? We're using SMART 11 SP1 (Smart 2012).

2. Randomly, IE will launch for kids with Javascript disabled, and therefore things like the button bar in Frog won't work.

3. My previously posted issue with Youtube, Flashplayer and Internet Explorer.

Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve these issues?

1) Yes has this with IE11. Resolved by upgrading Smart to 11.4 (still free version)

2) Are you pushing out settings via GPO Preferences? If so you should be able to edit the settings in there to enable the JavaScript.

3) Sorry can't help with this one

I'll take a look at 11.4 - I believe we tried this in the past, and it caused other issues.

We do push out settings via GPP. I have just double checked the setting and it appears it has been changed since I set it up for IE10... I spose that's what happens when you are out of the school for a year and expect things to stay the same. Why someone would want to disable Javascript for the Internet Zone is the question now. The web is kinda reliant on it now!

@localzuk we have the same issue with IE11 and the blank pages and the inability to type into login boxes. We use Smart Ink 1.1 (smartnotes 11.2) . With Smartnotes 11.4 smart ink goes to version 2.2 and we are about to test that out to see if it fixes our issues.

Do you remember what other problems it caused when you tried it last?

Hi, did anyone make any progress on this?

I work for an educational brain break company (GoNoodle) and we've had a bunch of teachers report issues with the page being scrolled down, not being able to type in inputs, etc.

We are now able to reproduce the problem using a Windows 8 laptop and a Smart board, running SmartInk. We've actually narrowed down the problem to the fact that SmartInk inserts an additional body tag as well as a hidden form input that acts as an interceptor between what you type and Internet Explorer. Unfortunately the implementation of that input is entirely broken.

I've reached out to Smart but so far have only gotten automated responses that aren't helpful.

I know one "solution" is to uninstall or at least disable SmartInk, but I'm not trying to solve this problem for just us, I'm trying to figure out a solution for 100s of our users, spread out across several continents. Definitely a bummer!
