Hi,

Am hoping someone with sharepoint knowledge will be able to help.

I created list where a user will enter info about a news item they want published on website, newsletter etc. On the list, there is a multiple choice field asking where they want the news display. its a multiple choice option. I created a custom workflow where by if a user chooses website, the website administrator will get the email with the info or if they chose any of the other options, someone else would get the email. This works fine but if a user wants it displayed on all 4 options (website, newsletter, twitter and newspaper) the custom workflow doesnt send the email.

We have Sharepoint 2010 and am using sharepoint designer 2010 for creating workflows.

Hope this makes sense.

I anyone able to suggest how to sort this.

cheers,

its an if statement.

If Current Item: Display On equals Website

email user a

else if current Item: Display On equals Twitter

email user b

display on is the multiple choice field.

no worries. how would it work if a user selects news to be displayed on website (managed by user a) and twitter (managed by user b).

Each if statement checks the content of it's own checkbox and all conditions are checked for regardless of whether a preceding one is true. With an if else structure, the else won't be processed if the if condition is true.

it works if i select one choice from the multiple choice field i.e website. but if i select both website and twitter (an an example) i dont get an email.

when multiple choices are selected, its showing up as Website, Twitter. i think thats why the statements are not working.

Ah. OK. There should be a "contains" option you could use instead of equals.

i.e.

if contains "Twitter" then

That worked. your a life saver. cheers again
