robjduk Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I am trying to get direct access working and hit a small bump so wondering if someone can help... I have a server setup and it claims it is working (green ticks everywhere) and a client with the group policy applied to it however it will not connect from outside the building. Due to a bad experience with direct access a while ago I am abit worried about the group policy so have only applied the server one to the server hosting direct access. Do I need to roll this group policy out to every server including domain controllers to get this working? I am currently looking on some help pages and it claims it will be looking for the workplace DNS which I hoped would work using the DA server as a gateway however wonder if the policy needs to be applied to all servers to allow them to give data over to a remote client. Any of that make sense? thanks all.
dezt Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 We've got DA set up here, the server policy is only applied to the DA server, the clients that connect from outside school are applied the client policy. Hope this helps. 1
