Hello all,

I am trying to setup my GPO for some Windows 8 Tablets.

I think its all sorted, except for the login / lock screen.

I want to set a custom image for all users, enforced through GPO but cannot work out how!

I found this Microsoft KB article - Win8: How to Manage the Lock Screen Image on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 but this only applies to window 8 and server 2012, whereas I am using 8.1 and 2012 R2.

my DCs are fully patched up to date, and the KB2770917 patch is available on wsus and approved, but is not relevant for these systems.

the GPO setting it points to - “Force a specific default lock screen image” isn't available, even on a newly created GPO.

any suggestions?

Sorry, to clarify

I want to set this on the Computer so all users get it, even when no-one is logged in.

I have opened GP Editor on my 2012 R2 Domain controller and under Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization, I do not have the "Force a specific default lock screen image" policy.

Check to make sure that you have copied the latest ControlPanel.admx and ControlPanelDisplay.admx from C:\Windows\Policydefinitions on the DC into \\domain.name\sysvol\domain.name\policies\PolicyDefinitions (including the matching .adml from the en-US folder).
