Setting up a Student SSID on Aruba

Hey ppl, currently our district is running 2 SSID's(guest and everyone else) on VLAN1. I would like to create a separate 'Student' SSID on it's own VLAN. But I've read somewhere were you only really need one SSID and have the VLANs assigned dynamically based on the user connecting to the SSID. Just wondering how everyone out there has theirs setup. Any info on this whether it's Aruba or another network is appreciated.
