[sims] NOVAT6 - Timetable

Hi everybody!

 

So the person who normally does the timetable is off long term. We outsourced the timetabling to someone else who basically did a timetable for us on Nova T6 now I am left to apply/upload/whatever it is the timetable to SIMS can anyone point me in the direction of a manual or give me a quick breakdown of what I need todo. I have never used T6 nor had anything to-do with timetabling so its gonna be a cracking day tomorrow any advice would be fantastic save me spending hours on hold with Capita

Have you managed to open Nova-T6?

 

If so, load the data file

If the cycle is different from your current one you will need to upload the cycle 1st

 

Data > Export Cycle to SIMS

 

Check the times match, set the start date

 

Ok and upload it to SIMS (enter your sims credentials)

 

Then Data > Export Timetable and Curriculum to SIMS

 

Enter the start and end date

 

Ok, login using your sims credentails

 

Follow the Transfer Wizard

 

Once the wizard is done and it's done the document server the timetable will need to be applied in SIMS

 

SIMS > Tools > Academic Management > Set Academic Year

 

Change it to next years, if one doesn't exist you will need to create an academic year

 

Then

 

SIMS > Tools > Academic Management > Apply Timetable

 

Follow the prompts

 

Set the start end dates, then choose what the 1st day is, Day 1/Day 6, etc.

 

 

Apply and then Save

 

 

You then need to do the promotions and set the classes etc.

Thanks Nick, managed to get the timetable exported. Can you amend the timetable once it has been applied within SIMS?

Yes, you can either create a maintenance timetable or use the existing one and re export it
