Hi All,

 

Still new to this forum.

 

Whats the best way to implement 802.1x for schools.. How do most of you do this? Do you use NPS or another program? And what do you setup in the backend?

 

Maybe a guide would be helpful? Google is great but there are a million ways to do things! LEAP/PEAP/EAP-TLS, i don't know where to start.....

If you're using Windows RADIUS, the radius logs are not human readable, so you'll need a radius log parser program to work out what's going wrong when your APs or clients don't connect. This will save you a lot of time.

 

 

I set up a system ages ago using FreeRadius. I can't remember much about it, but it did seem to work OK.

 

It was on a Linux system, so if you're using Windows it'll be of little help.

 

If nothing else, this will give you a good primer on Radius.

Another option is to use a managed system like Packetfence. You can download pre-built virtual machines which you can configure. Again, I've had success with Packetfence (which I think uses FreeRadius)
