Disappearing attendance marks in SIMS

Hi,

 

For most of our leavers I can still see their attendance stats, but for one boy his attendance seems to have been wiped – have you ever come across this?

Any help most appreciated! (The code now says '-' as if he was never with us - but he was!)

Stupid question, you're not in the wrong academic year are you?

I selected the student, in links > attendance. He shows '-' for when he was here, and 'z' from his leaving date onwards.

Thinking out loud, I suppose the next question is, can we read an individuals attendance data from a historical backup of sims?

Weird, how about if you go Focus > Lesson Monitor > Deal with missing marks

 

Call up his year group and see what it shows? Just double checked with a student that just left here and as expected Z after leaving date and normal lesson marks before. When the student was taken off roll was his attendance "fiddled" with?

 

It's happened here before when people have back dated a leaving date after the student has been marked absent, staff members have the gone it deleted his attendance marks from current day back to his leaving date and then took him off the system. I have seen it where people screw the dates up before and delete attendance data and then take the student off roll effectively leaving them with missing marks.

I know that if you change your registration group names instead of deleting them and creating new ones you can lose a student's attendance (as my EoY documentation mentions a bunch).

 

I'd imagine you'd have a far bigger issue than one student if that was the cause though.

 

Ran through a bunch of my leavers, and they all look right.
