TechSupp Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Just looking to see if its worth it installing Kodu for the new term. Got the latest msi. Does anyone who has installed it modify it with an MST before they push it out. Don't know what settings are fully involved but have gheard for our spec machines we need to some options to get a better frame rate and don't want to do this on all individual PC's. Any help or advice appreciated before I go any further.
sted Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 just use the msi BUT deploy xna framework 3.5 then 4 first or it fails
TechSupp Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 Thanks, just tried it on a PC and it runs but it did complain it needed 4, once installed it ran surprisingly OK, (did take of a couple of the viewing options). Now got to sort out a .net 4 msi now
TheScarfedOne Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 just use the msi BUT deploy xna framework 3.5 then 4 first or it fails Yep - stick these two on first, then its all fine. They are in a task sequence with dependencies for me in SCCM
TechSupp Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Just got around to looking at this again, Got the Kodu msi but has anyone got the xna framework msi's (3.5 and 4 as noted above) or could point me to the right ones? I have found xnafx40_redist.msi so far but finding all sorts and not sure of correct ones.
DanTheLacky Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Recently installed it (as standard) like someone else said requires XNA 3.5 first. Edited September 15, 2014 by DanTheLacky
TechSupp Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Yes I know it needs 3.5, have found the 4.0msi but can only find 3.1 files, so that's why asking if anyone has a copy of the 3.5 they have used.
dalehopper Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 yes i have, il drop you a message tomorrow with a link 1
samwells1234 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I am having a major issue with this 1 ICT suite has all 3 XNA updates 3.1, 4.0 and 4.0 refresh and runs kodu with no issues. My other ICT suite is only installing 3.1 when I deploy it but when I try to install manually or deploy 4.0 it comes up with the Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar.dll error 2350.
jdolan Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi, I've been looking for the Kodu .msi, but with no luck, could someone please point me in the right direction...? Much appreciated in advance...
Julian Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Google search gave me https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=10056 Kodu is below the Windows 10 advert
jdolan Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Thanks but needed the .msi package, not the .exe. Managed to extract it from the .exe file anyhow..... Cheers
CamelMan Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Just came to do this and found this: Kodu Forum | New Update (December 21, 2015 -- Version 1.4.111.0) Link to msi at the bottom of the page - just testing now.... EDIT: Works fine but you also need to roll out the XNA msi: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914 Edited January 8, 2016 by CamelMan 2

CamelMan Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 No - just push out the XNA msi first and the Kodu should install fine. Teachers have been using it alot for the last few weeks and no reports of problems.
