Live Streaming Audio over the Internet

A local charity that I work for would like to live stream their speeches and lectures over the Internet. At the moment they are streaming using local radio frequencies, but can anyone advise how this can be streamed over the Internet.

I know people sometimes stream events over youtube, and Edugeek sometimes uses adobe. There is Twitch but I think that's mainly for gaming.
