We have a few opening comments that have a space at the front of the line which was not intended. If I remove the space in the comment bank, and regenerate the student profile, it is still there (presumably because we have inline editing allowed). I am looking for a quick fix. I am thinking along the lines of generating all the profiles into one Word doc (can't work out how to do this!) and them doing a few search and replaces. Even if this was possible, it would do but it wouldn't fix individual profiles for linked docs. I then thought of finding the directory where the profiles are stored, and running a macro to open each document, search and replace, then save and close the document. Perhaps SIMS has a function to allow this type of thing? I am trying to avoid having to ask the teachers to go through every report deleting a space from each!

Thanks

We usually end up doing that in bulk in a word document and using a regular expression find and replace to correct the issue. As you say though that does not alter the copy that is attached to the record.

That sounds ideal! I can't see how to do it though. Is that because the session is active? Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated (it's my first go at profiles...)

I export them all then use a macro to put them into one document. You are outside SIMS at this point so the changes are only to the document and will not be reflected in profiles.
