Sylv3r Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 We have just placed an order to replace our existing EMC SAN with a DELL alternative. We currently have 2 hosts with 32GB RAM (can't add anymore), but I would like to another host. I have read that additional hosts must match the existing hardware - is that true in respect of RAM or everything. Ideally I want to make more RAM available so we can virtualise some more servers from physical to virtual. Does it just need to match the same RAM for HA or are we OK to add a new host with 64 / 128GB RAM without any issues? Cheers
glennda Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 You can add additional hosts with more memory easily. Which Dell San are you going for? I can see lots of issues coming out of dell with them merging equallogic and compollent ranges together. Plus IMHO equallogic is old tech now.
