When I turn it on, the black screen has 'Press esc to enter startup menu' in the bottom left corner. It won't get past this. If I press esc, it changes the message to 'Press esc to pause' - but it doesn't do anything. If I hit F10 at start up, it shows the option in the corner, but again, does nothing.

The hard drive seems to be starting, and I've tried without the hard drive and the problem is the same.

I've tried removing the memory and when I do that and start, it doesn't beep, but it starts, although the screen remains off in that scenario (keyboard is lit up however).

At a bit of a loss as to what to try next!

Cant do anything. Although a moment ago (whilst I was typing this thread) I had closed it and put it on my knee under the desk, a bit of a squeeze and when I opened it it was booting Windows. However, when I rebooted it did the same again and I can't get it to boot again.

Going to check the keyboard connection incase it thinks a key is being held down or something...?

Tis possible, or maybe an iffy USB port or CDrom drive. Try booting with the CD tray ejected (or removed completely)

Thanks - I will just try that now...
