not sure if any one else has came across but we have had some issue when it comes to profiles being loaded now pcs tend to be ok its mainly the laptops now our

our profile size is 5.81 MB in size we do have "always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" gpo applied but im wondering if enabling cached logins would speed things up though

So how long is it taking users to login? Generally speaking, anywhere between 30 second to a minute should be considered acceptable. It really depends what you have going on in the background.

I would like to say about that it has been known for some laptops maybe the odd one were they are stuck on the please wait screen for awhile but I think that's down to the laptop maybe not being use for some time. but generally I would say between a 1 min to 3 we but then again the network has full wireless n coverage the laptops are not allow to stick with just the one ap also we have set the laptops to delete profiles upon start up

Theres a microsoft patch to fix slow logins - have a quick google/search of the forum.

I'd say the deleting profiles is going to slow things up big time.

When I was having slow login problems I found this old thread a Godsend:

The other thing to check for is wayward print drivers, particularly if your using GPP to distribute your printers.

 

Might be worth starting with no GPOs being applied to the laptops and then adding GPOs one by one to see what causes the slow down.

yea just downloaded it and installed it on our dcs and this laptop im testing with

Huge difference.

 

Was going from random login times from 30 seconds up to about 5 or 10 minutes in some cases (frustratingly it was never machine specific) to pretty much 20 -30 seconds across the board.
