Crowd Mics - Smartphones are wireless microphones

 

Recently discovered this Android/iOS app and used recently, too. It's fantastic to use in a big conference without waiting for a mic to be handed around.

 

You have an iPad/iPhone hooked up to the sound system "on stage" and attendees download the free Crowd Mics app to their device. They join the event and request to speak. The organiser sees those requests and taps a speaker activating their devices mic which then goes through the sound system.

 

Works really well.
