SimpleSi Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 We just bought my daughter a present - for getting her degree - proud parents She chose a 2in1 HP Split X2 over a straight laptop/IPad (her choice) And she loves it She is praising the way the touch screen works (and only slight moan over no start button) - it works fast and seems to do everything it says on the packet. When in tablet mode - its much bigger and heavier than an IPad so not quite as portable but for sitting on the sofa and multitasking (watching rubbish TV/Facebooking/buying clothes online) then the screen size is perfect - no more pinching and zooming. My only concern is the physical robustness of the inter-connector (so I took out the extended warrant just in case!) if these things are made cheap and well enough (this one cost £500) then MS might make be able to fight the IPad in the educational field Simon
SimpleSi Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 And the killer for me was that I just downloaded and ran the Scratch 1.4 windows installer - and voila - Scratch on a pad
SYNACK Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Welcome to the 'dark' side, Windows tablets are actually pretty sweet. A tablet but you can run everything a full computer can as well as use it wherever.
john Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 You could put ClassicShell on it to restore the Start Menu and Button like I have on my Win 8.1 stuff that makes my life a lot nicer
