fredbayker Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 When I plug in a USB stick into a toshiba c850 win 7 laptop, it fails to install the drivers stating access is denied. I can't also remove the USB hub from within device manager as access is denied. Can't edit the registry as guess what "access denied" Permissions seem screwed here and It's starting to look like a rebuild unless anyone has a fix? Ta
Grey-gear Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Do you adminstrator permissions? If not you may need to find the person that does as it sounds like this has been majorly locked down. Edited June 17, 2014 by Grey-gear
Grey-gear Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Is the local admin in the administrator group of the laptop under user and groups in computer managment. sorry all I can thnink of right now.
fredbayker Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Aye, it's in there. I've tried different usb drives that work on other machines etc - all the the standard stuff. Thanks anyhow
fredbayker Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 I've decided to use a recovery disk. Saves messing around.
