Acess to mapped network drive denied

Hi, thanks in advance for any kind help on this.

 

I currently have an isolated machine that we are unable to access the staff shared T: drive on (tried re-mapping it) tried using a number of administration log-ins will full rights and still no luck, it recognizes the drive is there but doesn't indicate any capacity details, the drive works for every other machine

What happens if you disconnect and reconnect the map?

Has the machine been checked for viruses, sometimes an AV will kill a connection if it detects dodgey behaviour which may lead to this depending on how badly the AV implements itself in the OS.

running Sophos enterprise AV

If you type the UNC path into Explorer, be it:

 

\\SERVERNAME\SHARE

 

or the FQDN:

 

\\SERVERNAME.PRI\SHARE

 

Does that make any difference?

 

Can you browse to this share from navigating to Network?

 

Try forcing a registration with DNS - ipconfig /registerdns

 

If all else fails and it happens for all users, just re-image the workstation.

I notice this is the only hidden share compared to the other shares you have. Could it be a permission issue on the share?

I did think this but I have full admin rights and all our staff logins have full access to that drive

as mention above can you get to the share manually \\server\share$ ?

Hidden shares have no bearing on permissions (as far as I'm aware), it's literally just that - hidden!

 

Are you deploying using a script or GPP? If deploying using GPP, are you using Item-level targeting?

Is offline files enabled on the share/machine?

Check date and time on machine? Redo main the pc that ans the issue incase it is a trust issue.
