To All,

As you may or may not know, I am involved in a local youth charity (it's a Drum Corps for those in the know) that do a large annual fundraiser each year. This year we are going to walk the wealdway, but in reverse from last year, as in we are Starting at Eastbourne and going up to Gravesend and then into Northfleet. This is only 82 miles over 3 days, going over both the South and North downs.

If anyone feels like making a donation, please do so with my Just giving link below,

Garry Gardiner is fundraising for Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps

This will be happening from Friday 15th August 2014 until Sunday 17 (and yes I will be back in work the next day)

Thank you all :-)

Garry: Nice to know you're still doing the Drum Corps, I remember always getting beaten by you guys as my days in the ATC.

Best of luck doing this!

Drum Corps gets everywhere, I no longer march, although I still pull the tuba out for christmas carol fundraising but I mainly teach our youth unit and now and again pop along to the senior corps to give a hand.

Thank you @pcstru I think i may be slightly worse for wear by the end of it :-)

Pleasure. Marching bands aren't my cup of tea but if you are prepared to walk 80 miles over three days, that is commendable. Is there any problem with small donations (a few pence say)?

Shouldn't be, I am not sure what just givings minimum is, but we will be trying to fundraise on the way as well. Every little helps

Ok, if small donations aren't an issue. Over the next 20 days I will match every donation between £0.50 and £1 up to £40. Any edugeekers that want to play, please try and do a donation morning or evening for a decent interval thread bump. I was just about to press buy it now on some stupid luxury I don't really need (Lego - sob!), let's see if we can do the best part of a fifth of your target. Any sponsors want to match? @VeryPC @Millgate - how about it instead of lottery prize giveaways?

Oh come now people. What will it take to get a donation. If someone stumps up donation No 2 at *anything*, a mere *1 pence*, I will throw in £5 in addition to the bump pledge.

I know you have to give away some information to justgiving, but you don't need to create an account and it really won't take you a moment.

Helloooooooo.....

Ah yeah. I went to chuck a donation there during work, but found that the Minimum level is £2. I was waiting til I get home to do so.. :D

Thanks for doing that bit of homework :-). Call off that £5 but my match small bets doesn't work. I was hoping to encourage a bit of bi-daily bumping for the month for my measly wage. So I will donate £1 of the £40 up to that £40 as long as this thread get's a bump within a half hour ether side of 9am and 6pm. Multiple bumps within the hour don't accumulate additional coin!

YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO DONATE to earn BKGarry another £1. Just make sure there is a post in this thread between 8:30-9:30am or 5:30-6:30pm. If I thank you in this thread, you earn the £1 but I will only thank one post between those times. I will settle at the end of the month.

Does that make sense? Is that allowed moderation wise?

A post! A post! I really was beginning to totally despair.

Come on folks, all YOU need to do to get BKGarry another £1 of sponsorship is to make sure this thread has one post in the morning and one in the evening - two bumps a day. But unless you do that, that, my £1's for the bump will go on frumpin toys for a grown-up who should know better fer ghourds sake. No bump this morning, which is only 50% conversion rate so far. That is actually depressing me. Come on Edugeek.

Mr Lincoln seems to be a nice fella :)

You certainly wasn't saying that back in the day at Gravesend Grammar. I can only imagine the amount of hell me and the gang put you through in terms of IT issues :-)
