Make your own retro games console?

Hey All,

 

I've built my own retro games console for less than £100 (using a Raspberry Pi i picked up for £25) and it's awesome playing all the games from when I was a kid (and the ones I never got to play back then too)

 

My question is, if I made a series of web-tutorials on how to do it, is it something you would pay for? (e.g. 15 * 30 min lessons for all you need to know to build and get running)

Sorry to say this, but all the required info needed for this project is already freely available on the net, I found it months ago while browsing Raspberry Pi projects.

Definitely not. As mentioned, a simple search of community project sites and the likes will fine the info.

 

However, do it and provide it easily and freely and you'll gain some respect and notoriety, which could lead to other things! Reputations are rarely bought.

If you write free instructions with videos but make a package to help them (i.e. a kit) but it'll need to look and work fantastically. Then some might be interested. But the instructions are already freely available as GREED and dezt said.

Alas, it's a been there done that - though not with a Pi. Classic Xbox is the place to go for retro emulation. £15-£20 for the console, £5-10 for Splinter Cell, £40-50 for a hard drive. Can point to free instructions if need be.
