Hey Guys

So I think I have setup our WSUS server up correctly and it is showing that it's downloaded a few thousand updates although when you click on computers it's not showing any? I have tried clicking add a group and then added Domain Computers as a group but it's still not showing any.... now I'm just confused?

Cheers :)

Added your GPO to point clients at the WSUS box?

Yep as far as I'm aware I followed the instructions on this site!

What do you reckon the best time would be to do so mate? Also I'm not sure where the location of that is set to I just kind of followed a guide*

As @Domino mentioned, you need to set the 'Specify intranet Microsoft update service location' to point at your WSUS server. Alongside, the 'Enable client-side targeting' policy can be used to force machines into a specified WSUS group.

That same section of group policy, you want the

Set the intranet update service for detecting updates:

Set the intranet statistics server:

keys set to "http://mywsusserver.mydomain.whatever"

If you're gonna do automatic installs (probably best to be fair, with the rate security patches are happening) you'll want to do them out of hours. Also, I'd suggest ensuring your servers are under another policy...
