[fog] TFTP trouble under Fog 1.0.1

Machines on our network find the undionly.kpxe bootloader but the get stuck on the TFTP server and wont go any further. It never loads the boot menu

 

Any ideas on what might be wrong? and how to fix it.

 

I have tried a reinstall of Fog but that didnt work this time.

Have you tried to rebuild the PXE boot file? I think its as simple as going to FOG Settings > PXE Menu adding your passwords again and saving. Thats what you need to do when you change/update the kernel. I'm not in front of my box at the moment so some of the menu titles above may differ.

As the new pxe boot then chains off to ipxe we tried specifying the other file (think it was default.ipxe) as a differnt class on the dhcp server. I unfortunately had to restore a snapshot of my fog server and downgrade my nodes as 85% of our devices either wouldn't get ipxe or just rebooted all the time at ipxe.

 

Real let down but if it works...

DO NOT USE THIS VERSION OF LINUX, IT IS TOO NEW AND THERE ARE ISSUES WITH TFTP UPSTART AGAIN, WHEN TIME ALLOWS AND MAJOR ISSUES WITH FOG HAVE BEEN RESOLVED, WE WILL TACKLE FIXES FOR THE UBUNTU 14.04 OPERATING SYSTEM!

I'm having the same problem. Did you revert to an older version of Ubuntu in the end, if so what version works?

Solved it. I upgraded to v 1.1.1 and it all started working, so it was either the fact that I reinstalled or something in the new version fixed it.
