Hi,

We are currently looking into purchasing some tablet/Ipads for class use. I have read many posts regarding the management (or lack of) of these various devices and the pros and cons. Initially I think we will look at a bank of 15 or so which will be bookable by anyone. I have looked at Meraki MDM and this seems to favour the IPAD over Android devices.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an Android device manager which will allow me to:

Lock them down

Push apps to them

Reimage them

Is there anyone in the West Yorkshire area that already use Tablets/IPADS with some kind of management software that wouldn't mind a visit to showcase their methods?

Thanks

We use Meraki MDM with our Android devices.

Have just ordered a lot of Toshiba Encore - Windows 8.1 is a lot easier for us to manage using our existing AD setup. And the devices are reasonably priced.

Hi @josephathon,

@Millgate has a good one for you there, cannot argue with the number of users who've engaged Lightspeed.

The Intel Education Software suite available on the VeryPC Classmate Android and Windows tablets achieves the classroom management, and learnpad software allows for everything else. It appears that there are quite a few threads (some merged now) regarding iPad MDM, with some great end user feedback, solutions, best practice and suggestions.

If you'd like to know more about the VeryPC Intel Classmate range / Learnpad and Android / Windows options, feel free to get in touch.

Best,

Col

Lenovo offer some good tablet/laptop hybrid options also. With Flex10 is a 10" touchscreen notebook with full 8.1. And it very reasonably priced.

Drop me a line if you'd like a little more info :)
