Attendance app for PC?

One of my customers has told me this morning that she went on some training course with Capita a while back and was told that there was an app that could be installed on a PC in order to do attendance which meant staff didnt need to logon to SIMS as such???

 

I've never heard of this and I think the member of staff may be just wrong but does anyone else know any more before i tell her she's stupid?

There are plenty of third party software options. I wouldn't use the word app per se.

Maybe she meant SLG, with Learning Gateway teachers can take the register through the web

I thought that, and it makes sense that they plug their own lines, but i wouldn't just describe it as an app that means you don't have to login to SIMS. I guess it's all they wanted to hear!
