CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Afternoon... Our Senior Leadership Team are very keen on setting up a shared calendar system (nice and easy) which is accessible and available to them outside of school (seemingly not so easy). Our current mail server is Exchange 2007 but we are looking to migrate over to Office 365 in the summer (if that makes a difference). I wondered if anyone had managed to implement a similar system with any of the major mobile platforms? I have found Team Calendar Sync which suggests it can do the job nicely and that, coupled with a Moto G/Nexus 7 (depending on which form factor they would prefer) could really fit the bill. Failing that any other suggestions people have had, or info you can provide if you have implemented a similar system would be very much appreciated!
edutech4schools Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Would have thought your main choices are Google apps for Education or office 365
CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 As far as I am aware the limitation of only being able to sync your own calendar is with ActiveSync, and I dont think Office365 natively fixes this... Google apps would, but it would mean a complete shift to their service which we are not ready for at present.
plexer Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 If you are using the full outlook client on their pc's something like gsyncit which can sync to other services might work for you? I use it to do a 1 way sync of my exchange calendar to my wifes gmail calender and a 2 way sync to my gmail calendar. Ben
Marci Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 See PHP script posted yonder - should be of some use: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/netbooks-pda-phones/126493-outlook-shared-calendars.html#post1165120
