Running SIMs on a thin client....

...and more specifically a Sun Ray/ stateless thin client. Can it be done?

Yes, I demonstrated it at the last conference on an RM AsusMinibook, connecting to a Windows Server 2003 R2 Terminal Server via Firefox connecting to a Server running Sun's Secure Global Desktop.

 

We now have thin clients as admin machines, just waiting for a few java cards so that when they login in they get the staff server rather than the general curriculum TS box.

Also works fine running under Thinstation, connecting via rdp to a 2003 Terminal server

We have all our Sun Ray and SGD schools running SIMS via SGD and Sun Ray

 

Does work quite nicely
