Uraken Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 is my sims directory on the server meant to be 8gb? i inherited the setup and think i could slim it down a bit but am not sure where to start.
dan400007 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Its does have the potential to grow to that size or bigger. It all depends on your individual configuration, such as where the SQL backups are stored. Have a check in the system manager and look at where the SQL backup folder is. I've just checked my SIMS application share and its running at 3Gb, my SQL backup folder is running at 23Gb 8O
Grommit Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I had the same problem and my SIMS went up to 80GB and took out the whole server.. SIMS have a little program called ?? (forgot) that shrinks the database ...
cophighschool Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 We had a similar problem after installing a patch that supposedly solved a duplicate entry problem relating to the Autumn Census. It seems that Sims was writing to tempdb but not shrinking the database. Believe it or not but it was all resolved by a patch from Capita (yes thats right a patch from Capita that does some good).
