Ecclesbury Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Hi all, As usual apologies for any ignorance that I betray but I hoped I might be able to gain some knowledge from you lovely people. Our sixth form have been trying to set up an online applications process and the potential developer has asked if I can show him what format an import file would need to look like if we wanted to export data from the application software and then re-import into SIMS. My question, is there some kind of 'schema' available that I can send him for CTF and/or ATF files? Or would the only option be to send him an actual CTF which I have stripped of any real information? Are there any drawbacks in doing this? I've got to say I'm not happy at all with the idea that a sole developer is being considered who doesn't seem to have any idea about how SIMS data transfer works. However, I've made those opinions clear and am still being chased to send this information through.
GREED Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 These are available on the DFE website. Search CTF. When I get back to my PC ill dig them out for you 1
Ecclesbury Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Excellent, thanks both. I'll be honest, I did try and have a google and didn't come up with anything, although I probably didn't try searching the DfE site directly. What a plonker. Is it just me that find it painfully difficult to find stuff that the DfE release?
Ecclesbury Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) I must have dreamt that....I do have some odd dreams. Double plonker. Edited May 9, 2014 by Ecclesbury
GREED Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Documents on the common transfer file. Nice one. FYI I have added this to the Resource Hub on the Eduware website for future reference.
LosOjos Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 FYI I have added this to the Resource Hub on the Eduware website for future reference. Eduware?
LosOjos Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Resource Hub | Eduware Consulting How have I never seen this?
GREED Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 How have I never seen this? Partly because I quite rightly agreed with Chris and Shaun that I would not (personally) over-promote this (in return for allowing me to a) stay and b) keep going with the MIS Challenge;)). It's the base for the results for the MIS Challenge for the most part but I'm also collecting useful resources for schools and such and creating a hub of information free to use.
pcstru Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Double plonker. I've been called a lot of names in my time but that takes the biscuit!
LosOjos Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I've been called a lot of names in my time but that takes the biscuit! The Rich Tea? They're double plonkers, if you dip them too vigorously...
PhilNeal Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 If you've got Registrations & Admissions there is an import from school web site option which is a lot simpler.
adamf Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 If you've got Registrations & Admissions there is an import from school web site option which is a lot simpler. Is this it: SIMS Registration and Admissions | capita-independent.co.uk and can non-independent schools have this facility?
