Novalee Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Really strange problem here. A computer is not sending documents to the printer - (any printer). Even when sending a test page, it's not going. No pop up in the corner to say it was even sent which leads me to believe it's not actually leaving the computer. The printer is mapping and is working for other computers. This seems to be computer, not user, as I've tried multiple accounts. (Although it works from the admin account...). However, occasionally it is printing - this seems to be the first print from what I can tell, but haven't testing this theory completely yet. I was about to give up and reinstall the machine, when someone else has just reported what appears to be the same problem. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Have been looking online but can't seem to find anything. Thanks.
penfold Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Have you recently updated any printers/drivers? If so try going to the problem PC and remove all traces of local printers including the drivers and re-map the printer. It could be an old print driver causing an issue which you could have overlooked as the printer is no longer attached. We had an issue with Kyocera KX drivers on Windows XP machines and had to change to a universal driver. Still had to manually remove the local print driver before the problem went away though.
Novalee Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Thanks Penfold. Downgraded the driver by one release seems to have solved it. Very strange though as the other two PC's in the office have the exact same set up and were fine. The driver wasn't updated recently so no idea why it's only just causing a problem.
