icloud backup stopped working

As subject, hasn't backed up for 12 weeks now...

Just says "calculating time ..." then progress bar stays at about 10% for an hour or so , then errors out saying backup can't be done..

Ipad2, plugged in, icloud logged in, reporting 4.5G of 5G left.

 

Any ideas..... ?

My girlfriend's iPhone did something like that recently. I fixed it by turning iCloud backup off then back on again
