[sims] sims.mdf Date modified

This may be entirely normal but after checking our backups today we've noticed an oddity.

 

sims.mdf Date modified 01.04.2014.

 

Now clearly it's being used, it's being updated etc and there's no apparent issues. Most of the database files in that location (FMS, Discover, all the log files) etc have the same date modified.

 

Slightly worried but hoping someone can tell me it's OK No access to my other schools remotely for some reason today so I can't check those. Server 2012, SQL 2012.

Was that when you did the SQL migration?

No, that date has no significance. SQL 2012 was on there since the server was commissioned a year ago and the spring update was done a couple of weeks after.

OK, panic over I think! (although I'm still intrigued as to the reasons - can only assume it does everything in memory and commits when it needs to?)

Yup, first thing. Doubled checked in command prompt too.

I've been told it's because its still being written to, so the date stamp won't get updated until that finishes, ie when you next reboot.

I just stopped and started teh SQL services and the date and time updated.
