P3005 Noise

Hi All,

 

I have a HP P3005 Laserprinter and its making a horrid grinding noise as it picks up paper, it prints fine. it seems to be a bit random as well and its not a constant noise it comes and goes as it picks up the paper. I have taken out the fuser and had a look, under the main fuser gears there is a larger gear which i`m guessing has to do with paper pickup because of its position, when I turn it makes a noise so this appears to be the culprit, although iv not compared this to a working printer.

 

has anyone else had experiences with these printers?

You could try some WD40 perhaps?
