folder redirection and permissions troubleshooting

Hi,

 

I've got an issue with folder redirection not working.

 

Looking in the logs in eventvwr.msc I can see the error is

failed to apply policy and redirect folder 
can not create folder
access is denied

 

This is odd as the folder does exit on the server.

 

Looking at the share on the server I can see the share permissions are full control for everyone

and the ntfs permissions are full control for staff group

 

Also when logged on as a staff member if I try to access the hidden share via \\server\share$ I get

You do not have permission to access \\server\share$

 

which makes me think there is some fundamental permissions problem rather

than a group policy issue with folder redirection.

 

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further or is there something obvious I

am missing?

Forgot to update this. Looks like was a windows bug. Turned off offline files and all ok again

Yeah offline files / syncing does not play nice with folder redirection at all. It caused me a few headaches before I disabled it.
