Office 365 Atatchments

I have just ran a mini training session with a teacher on Office 365 and was asked a question which I couldn't answer!

 

"How do I download all attachments at once?" - "It would seem you can't!"

 

Really M$? Do you guys know if Office 365 / OWA has this simple feature?

You can do in Outlook. Wouldn't you be using this internally anyway?

No, we are using OWA as we wanted to have a uniform experience across all devices. Plus none of our staff (bar SLT which do) have 'dedicated' machines.

Not all schools will bother with Outlook. Or maybe for just some users. Corero for example needs the full fat client. Then the SLT or teachers like to have the shared calendars etc. But a lot of schools will never to think to give it to the students. Many reasons are sited, consistency of user experience with web mail when at home, Complexities of archiving, etc. Few will admit to laziness though.

You don't need dedicated machines. Set outlook to auto configure. Although we don't use Office 365 but Exchange instead, all users here use outlook including students. Not many of our staff have a dedicated machine, and no students do. We don't use roaming profiles. I had the same thought as you regarding being uniformed, but it doesn't work out. It appeared different on tablets, desktops and then android uses the cut down theme. As we had more functionality and it was easier to use, we use Outlook instead.

 

Anyway i don't think you will be able to do it in OWA.

hehehe, posted when I was still typing my last post. You don't need dedicated computers. Outlook works well with roaming profiles.

i thought outlook disliked pst files not being on a local drive?

Hmm.. Having just taught them all to use OWA I'll stick to that. I will probably roll out Outlook client to them over the coming months on an individual basis. It learn em not to send / receive so many attachments!
