[windows software] VAMT 3.1 Windows 7 Count

Im having problems with getting windows 7 computers licensed on vmat.

 

It says that the count is too low. But i got more then 25 computers on windows 7 using kms or VMAT keys?

 

The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer could not be activated.The Count reported by your Key management service (KMS) is insufficient. Please contact your system administrator

 

Any help?

I just noticed i got 2 computers that are being used as KMS (Maths W7 pc and Utilities Server 2K8 R2

 

How can i just make my utilities server just be kms?

 

Can i just change the key of the "maths computer" to a GVLV key?

Yes.

 

In VAMT (not VMAT), right-click the maths computer and tell it to install a new license, then repeat telling it to activate.

Sorry, it depends how you read NewPersn's second post.

 

I read it as he/she had two clients (maths and utilities) with MAK's which he wanted KMS (client keys) to bring his device count up to 25, which makes sense.

 

I then re-read it and posted my second response, because he says they are both KMS already, which I took to be KMS clients, but with your response, I wonder if he means KMS servers?

I got maths computer and utilities server. I just want utilities being the kms not maths, (maths computer is a classroom pc and just want it to be standard no roles)

 

Utilities has over 50 computers which is fine. Just this maths computer which wont let me activate any more. saying the count isnt enough. (which is where i got confused)

 

I just want utilities to handle the kms. Not both

Also check the duplicate CMID counts - you may find if you've not sysprepped/generalised your images properly you've basically got a load of cloned PCs and KMS doesn't like that.

I got 2 computers.

 

 

172.18.35.52 is my computer

ITOFFICE-01 is also my computer

 

Im guessing IT-OFFICE02 And cover-01 just need syspreping.

 

These 2 computers where installed without being re-imaged as there was a rush. (just office software)

Yeah - my instructions above were correct for this, now we've ascertained I was on the right track in the first place.

Just to add. I had to update DNS as it was all pointing to the maths computer randomly.

 

Once DNS was updated its not working fine.
