Scotmk Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hi When trying to log in to the joomla front end admin side, we get the error "Cookies must be enabled" this happens on any machine and any profile. This was working find yesterday and nothing has change? Any ideas? I have tried a hammer but that failed.. ? Scot
contink Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Stupid question and I know you say that nothing has changed but has anyone or something managed to dump the cookie path for your site? Had similar problems on here and on phpBB2 when an errant configuration setting balked the whole thing.
Scotmk Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 All looks fine, path ok, nothing looks different at all, very odd!
contink Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Anti-spyware perhaps? Could be that something is stripping the cookies that way?
Scotmk Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 ok, I tried using the version I have at another domain (for testing purposes) and this works fine, logs in and no cookie error. Now I am really confused, it has to be something do to with settings, but again I I have compared and nothing is different or change, starting to pull out whats left of my hair now. AARRGGGHHH!
contink Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Me' thinks this is one of those... look away and then look back at the machine sharply to see if there's gremlins dancing on the keyboard. Beyond that I'd also look to see if stupid stuff like spaces, full stops, or "looks-like" characters eg: I->l->1, etc... may be involved.. Tbh though you're likely to find this is going to be something you come back Monday and find, "Hey it's working"..
