Staff Desktop

Hello,

 

For students we have the desktop redirected to a central share so they all have the same icons on the desktop and they cant add or delete them.

 

For staff they have there desktop redirected into there Home Share so they all have there own desktop.

 

What I want to do is make it so that staff can have there own desktop still but so I can also add icon's to all the staff desktops.

 

Hope this makes scenes to everyone.

If its windows 7, Public folders on the computers and then public desktop.

 

this will add the icons to the desktop for all users.

Could you not just do standard redirection?

 

\\Fileshare\Desktops\Student\StudentDesktop (Read-only)

\\Fileshare\Desktops\Staff\Username (Deny access to all but username)

\\Fileshare\Homefolders\Student\Username (Deny access to all but username)

\\Fileshare\Homefolders\Staff\Username (Deny access to all but username)

 

Then give yourself Read/Write on the entire fileshare so you can access and modify all of them?
