File Server Resources Manager - Incorrect quota status

Hi guys!

 

Just wondering if anyone has come across FSRM incorrectly reporting on the size of a user's Home path? We are having occurrences of it showing a user as over the limit, yet FSRM thinks the folder is bigger than what it actually is, even looking at "size on disk" - to get around this, we have had to create a new Home path for the user and move their files in to it. Even after having emptied the old Home path, FSRM thinks that the now empty folder still has data in it, even though it is definitely completely empty (hidden files/folders turned on). I have included screen shots of the folder properties of the Home path in question and the corresponding FSRM summary to show the inconsistencies:

 

 

Any thoughts would be most appreciated!

Having the same problem with a particular students home folder too. Weird, had to increase the quota temporarily but will probably have to create the student a new home folder as you have.

You can force a recalculation of a quota with the following command.

 

Dirquota quota scan /path:path

i had this on my old file server 2008 R2 i think it was counting the shadow copies... that were on the same volume... when i upgraded to a new server i used separate disks to store the shadow copies

I have also seen this on systems that were not running shadow copies, and was able to fix it with the dirquota command.
