Backing up Virtual Machine snapshots

What is everyone's policy on backing up snapshot backups for their VM servers?

Using VMware V sphere client, Currently we backup the snapshot to the default location (on the VM host), but if this Host goes down the snapshot wouldn't be available (to restore) so I`m wanting to copy this to another location

What does everyone do on this

Veeam. The free version is great.

Veeam doesn't work with the version of VMware we use (free version, plans to buy paid for version with new budget).thanks

We are using Dell AppAssure to backup to disk and then to replicate those backups to a secondary server.
