As a pro fracking argument I would counter their 'Don't squeeze the last gas out of Britain' argument with 'So, we're just supposed to sit on it and do nothing?'.

There's 50+ years of the stuff down there and not one single proven case against extracting it. If the most litigious country in the world (the US) has decided it's safe then let's get it.

Yes. It's becoming a bit of a problem that people think these reserves can be exploited.

"not one single argument against it" if you want to ignore the entire body of work known as climate science. I wouldn't look to the USA for a lead on that.

Listen to discussions by Guy Mcpherson, he has performed research to show that current climate change is in a 40 year lag, so our current is based on things we did back in 1974. Take into account that methane gas is a big contributor to climate change, and all fracking wells leak a lot of methane into the air; we are majorly setting ourselves up for collapse in the near future.

 

Do you know many millions of dollars oil companies are spending each year on lobbying to say that fracking is good in the US (if it was good then why not just let the science speak for itself)?
