Hello, I modified my managed software install gpo to remove an old version of java and install the latest version. now every time it hangs at the uninstall even if i remove the network connection and manually uninstall said version of java.

Any ideas what might be going wrong?

Thanks in advance

Look in event viewer see if anything is stopping the software being uninstalled. Double check that you have the GPP in the correct OU (Computer not user), could also try running gpupdate /force see if you have any joy.

Try running rsop.msc.

It shows you what policies are applied to the computer and any errors. Have solved a few issues of software not installing with this.

Ive foud manually uninstalling software deployed with GPO causes issues,

The registry keys it uses to tell what software has been stored by gpo are here:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Group Policy\AppMgmt

Can try deleting the folder for the java software.
