Record Network Logons

Hi all,

 

I'm not sure whether this is the right forum to post this in, or whether this is possible across an entire network, however does anyone know if it is possible to record every single logon to the network over the course of a month? I know you can get a few bits of information from the local auditing...

Possibly not the neatest solution, but I added this to our logon.bat files that give us what we need:

 

REM Log User Connection
 net use x: \\<[i]serverip[/i]>\logs$
 echo COMPUTER %computername% TIME %time% DATE %date% >> X:\%username%.txt
 echo USER %username% TIME %time% DATE %date% >> X:\%computername%.txt
 X:\bgi\bginfo.exe x:\bgi\settings.bgi /timer:0 /accepteula
 net use x: /delete /yes

Ideally, i'd like to find something that will record the computer logons and then allow me to produce a report on the entire network usage.

I use bginfo for this. I have it set to record to SQL. From there I use ms access to pull of various reports on hardware (ram, model, maker etc.), deployed image version (I have bginfo detect a reg key I place in during image build)

 

And tracking all logins, mainly for tracking students down when there is damage.

GUI interface, can have a limit on logons, shows a popup if you logon somewhere else. Can remotely log pcs off. All logged to either an XML file or a SQL db. With a Web front end.
