Has anyone upgraded Server 2012 to R2 with Exchange 2013 SP1 installed? If so, did all go smoothly?

Tried this on a test server with a couple of databases and mailboxes.

I stopped Exchange services before running the upgrade (perhaps I should have disabled services also?). No AV or DAG to worry about.

Post upgrade to R2 I was unable to mount any of the databases; they were showing 'dirty shutdown'. Esentutl /r fixed one empty database, no help with the other 2.. various errors about missing logs and checkpoints. Using the /p switch, the database returns to clean shutdown, mounts then immediately dismounts and goes back to dirty shutdown.

I'm going to have another go but would welcome any tips if I'm missing something.

Thanks.

Thanks for that. I had another go, same result.

Yes, installed 2013 SP1 before the upgrade, only on the test server. Installed ok. I'll have abash with a new R2 VM and fresh install of 2013 SP1.

Thanks.
