I am having a go at trying to setup PaperCut Cloud Print through a smoothwall. I have read a post on here that i need to find the IP address of google.com/cloudprint:443 and talk.google.com:5222 and add it to the firewall.

Has anyone managed to get this working as i have got a printer published to google however google thinks the printer is offline.

The print server has the proxy removed so its direct out the net and has also been tested with the server in the Web Filter expections and configured with proxy port 801.

Ah, ive found something "The PaperCut Application Server must be able to connect to the internet to communicate with Google Cloud Print servers. Ports or exceptions may need to be made in firewalls or proxy servers. The full details are: TCP (HTTPS) port 443 connections to https://www.googleapis.com/*, https://accounts.google.com/* and https://www.google.com/cloudprint/*, as well as a TCP port 5222 (XMPP with STARTTLS) persistent connection to talk.google.com."

Just a little unsure where to put this in smoothwall.

Oh dear.. after doing a bit of reading, i think i have just found out that users wanting to use google cloud print via papercut will need a gmail account.. Google Cloud Print Each Google Cloud Print user requires a Google account. So for us that is a O365 account for school emails and a gmail account for printing, dont think this is going to work at our place. Have also been sent this document PaperCut KB | Firewall Configuration - Ports used by PaperCut.

Has anyone got this working through smoothwall?

Printers are showing offline after allowing the ports, setting the print server to use port 801 and added the google domains to the authentication exception list.

Printers still showing as offline
