IPad App Download Issue

We have recently been having problems with our IPad Mini's not being able to download apps while connected to our school network (it used to work fine). The IPads download when connected off site and internet access works fine. It looks like it is related to the latest IOS update as I was able to find an older IPad2 that was still running v6.01 which did download apps fine on our network, however when I upgraded this to v7.04 app downloading stopped working aswell. Does anyone know if any changes have been made to the way apps are downloaded in the latest IOS version that would stop it working on our network, such as port/address changes which need to be added to our firewall?

I know that on our ones they will only download Apps when on the staff proxy portal, the student one can browse the app store but it fails whenever I try to download on it.

We have tried bypassing our proxy server completely with no change.

Hi we had the same problem........To get round it we entered in the iPads http proxy, manual setting to "proxy.lancsngfl.ac.uk" instead of the IP address.

We had the same issue and our ISP / filter provider said that Apple had changed how their servers were configured so they had to alter the filtering and it now works. Sorry haven't got more detail than that.
