Proposal is to purchase 1 server and split into virtual ones (i've got the quotes already). This is my proposed install plan if you could check it over please. Many thanks 1 - 3 already done 4. Server 2012 on Host machine (Not to go on domain) 5. Configure 2 network cards 6. Hyper V role setup (set place to save vhd files) 7. Setup virtual file server (FS01) a. Install server 2012 – name, ip address etc b. Setup shares (Pupils, staff, shared area) c. Copy data (Pupils, staff, shared area) d. Test \ check share permissions e. Logon script to match share f. Backups + test g. ESET h. Shadow copies 8. Create admin user accounts on old 2003 server 9. Setup virtual file server (FS02) a. Install server 2012 – name ip address etc b. Setup shares c. Copy Data d. Give old admin users permissions e. Copy sage data f. Re-point machines to sage data g. Test sage h. Backup + test i. ESET j. Shadow copies 10. Setup virtual domain controller (DC01) a. Ad Prep b. DC Promo c. FSMO Roles d. Check DNS Replication (inc blocked sites) e. Setup DHCP scope f. Check netlogon g. Backup + Test h. ESET 11. New admin machines in place / Upgrade Karen a. Backup email contacts b. Join to school domain c. Check access to everything d. Check sage 12. Setup virtual apps server (AP01) a. Windows deployment services b. Windows update services c. Backup + Test d. ESET
