Hi All

 

After doing the last lot of my ESXi exams I have now been instructed by the Mrs to sell my test server, (again) Apparently it uses 2 much electricity, (even tho I pay the electric bill) and also is 2 loud.. Women huh.. Anyway thought I would post a link on here to see if anyone in / around london maybe interested.

 

Its a Dell 2950, 16GB Ram, 2 x quad core processors (E5430), PERC6I Raid card.

We used 2950's III in production for a 3 way esx cluster and were super machines. They remain in in service as ESXi and XEN Hosts

They are very good machines... I just wish I could keep it, but am having to move to a couple of MicroServers which have sod all power :-(

 

They can take unto 64GB RAM so they are great ESXI Hosts for VMs and with the Quad core CPS they can run most things you throw at it.

They are excellent old pieces of kit, unfortunately we had to retire our 3 in the summer after 5 years as we out-grew them. Not one failure in those 5 years, on any part! So anybody looking to buy one they do come recommended
