Mini HDMI to VGA adapter. Quality of picture?

Hi,

We are just about to purchase some intel NUCs for our admin staff.

They NUCs come with a mini HDMI port but the monitor at the mo only have VGA.

We have thought about purchasing new monitors but thinking they could probably last another year. They dont complain about them but would like to upgrade them at some point, we have a reduced budget this year though.

Has anyone had any experience with HDMI to VGA adapters or mini display port to VGA?

Would like to know how the quality of picture is compared to a pc with a VGA output.

many thanks

Technically you may lose a little quality as converting from HDMI to VGA as VGA is an analog signal. Though to be honest I really don't think this would be noticable on a desktop monitor with a 1.2m cable. If you are concerned You'd be better finding any monitors you have with a DVI connector and giving them to the staff with the NUCs. HDMI and DVI use compatible signals, no convertion is required and signal integrity is maintained.

Thanks, will go round and count who has dvi on their monitors.

It's the latest Haswell edition. Old versions are starting to run out of stock.
